Quiero agradecer a ustedes por compartir conmigo su bonito país. Mi español no es muy bueno pero tratare de hablarles desde el fondo de mi alma. Me gusta vacacionar por largas temporadas en este hermoso Mexico porque me encanta surfear. Cuando fui niña, no viví cerca de mis padres, así que busque en el mar mi casa. Durante mi vida he surfeado en muchas partes del mundo y Mexico es mi país favorito. Es un tesoro increíble. He aprendió mucho de la gente mexicana. Le tengo un gran respeto a su cultura, sus familias y su tierra.
Para mi es muy difícil saber que no es lo mismo cuando ustedes visitan mi país. Si en mi estuviera quitaría las fronteras sobre la tierra. Pero en el mar no hay fronteras. Es nuestro océano, es nuestro padre y madre, y todos somos los hijos del mar. Lo limpia el aire, nos da la lluvia y la vida. Necesitamos conservarlo porque los plásticos lo están matando. Cuando tiramos plásticos estos, siempre terminan en el océano. Creo que es una problema severo porque si el mar no es saludable nosotros ni nuestros niños somos saludables. Los que vivimos aquí tenemos mucha suerte de vivir cerca del mar, podemos ir a la playa y sabemos la alegría que nos da el mar.
Yo se que el problema de los plásticos es demasiado grande y que para unos cuantos es difícil solucionar, pero necesitamos seguir intentando. El mar es demasiado profundo y es la mas profunda herencia que podemos dar a los niños y a las futuras generaciones. Gracias por su trabajo, por salvar el mar. Y muchísimas gracias por darme la bienvenida en su país.

I want to thank you for sharing your beautiful country with me. My Spanish is not very good but I will try to speak from the bottom of my heart. I like to vacation for long periods of time in Mexico because I love to surf. When I was a child, I did not live near my parents, so I searched for a home in the ocean. During my life, I have surfed all over the world, and Mexico is my favorite country. It is an incredible treasure. I have learned a lot from Mexican people. I have great respect for your culture, your families and your land.
It is very difficult for me to know that it is not the same when you visit my country. If it were up to me, I would remove the borders on the earth. But in the sea there are no borders. It is our ocean, it is our father and mother, and we are all children of the ocean. It cleans the air, gives us rain and life. We need to protect the sea, because the plastics are killing it. Plastics that we throw away always end up in the ocean. It’s a severe problem because if the ocean is not healthy, we are not healthy, and our children are not healthy. We are lucky to live near the sea, because we can go to the beach and feel the joy it gives us.
